Dallas prop rental? - 08-02-2006, 10:51 AM

I have a business partner that has been "retained" to shoot a HS drill team. He has come to me for some help, since he is really more of a graphic designer than photographer. I told him I could help him with lighting and shooting it.

Well, the shoot is 8/19, and I just got some scans of last year's stuff (See below--please excuse the craptastic scan.) The individual shots are posed with props like ladders and stars. I was wondering if anyone knew where in Dallas you can rent props such as the one shown here?

If anyone has a suggestion, it would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Way back when I was on the drill team (cough cough) the team had it's own props that were used during the photo sessions.. we had ladders and signs and whatnot. Frankly, I prefer the shots w/o all the props.

Me too--it looks kinda 80s or 90s. But what baby wants, baby gets, right? In other words, it's not my idea.

I would have to agree. I don't like a lot of big type props when doing this kind of photography. However, check out your local party rental stores....or just make your own....or pay high dollar to buy them.

You might try contacting anyone you know that plans weddings, they usually know of good rental stores for that type stuff. We only have one rental store here in Carthage so there's no much choice of who to rent from unless you go out of town but they do have such stuff as collums and latice panels. It's just my thoughts but what about finding a nice background setting like at a park or maybe a stadium?
