Shooting a new bar - 09-12-2006, 11:28 AM

Yet again, I'm trying to get an idea of what to charge for a job. I haven't talked details yet but basically it's shooting the interior of a new bar for their brochure. No idea yet how many shots so I'll just be charging half day/full day rates.
So I'm looking for a general idea of half day/full day rates for a bigger city like Houston, and also what other costs do I need to add like location fees, usage fees, etc. I will then make adjustements based on my experience, or lack there of.
I know these questions get asked a lot and they are hard to answer but I'm so lost in this area anything would help.
Oh, and since it's a new business, should i ask to be payed up front? In part or in full?

Thanks for putting up with me! I keep getting referrals and it's always for something different. But this is one area I'd like to get into more... architecture/interiors.

Also, what are the questions I want to ask when trying to work out a quote?

1. Where will the photos be used?
2. What's the print run?
3. Just in Houston?
4. Website, too?

anything else?

And isn't there a photography quoting software some of you use? A mac version would be a nice bonus.
