Senior Picture Pricing Sheets (I need to know how to pkg all the sizes not how much)

This is a discussion on Senior Picture Pricing Sheets (I need to know how to pkg all the sizes not how much) within the Business Talk forums, part of the Business Discussion category; I'd love to see some examples. If someone could show me a good start I'm creative enough to mold it ...

I'd love to see some examples. If someone could show me a good start I'm creative enough to mold it into my own form. I just need a start

Discussing price is always a touchy matter. Not only is it a touchy topic but there is always that whole matter of collusion and price fixing by publicly disclosing pricing.

If I shot them I would tell ya. But I don't.

Try asking about price ranges. See if you are in the right neighborhood. But even then you may have trouble.

Prophet out.

In 95 When I got my senior portraits done I know we bought a package that included each of the following for each pose and I think there were 4 poses.
1 - 11x14
2 - 8x10's
3 - 5x7s
4 sheets of wallets

Hope that helps get a basic package idea.

Why is it a touchy topic? Also, how likely is it that anyone could possibly consider the issue to be "collussion"? If this were true then no one would publicy post their pricing on their web sites.

Bryan - Just do some research on the web and you'll find plenty of photogs web sites where they've had no problems with showing their package contents and pricing. You should be able to get a pretty good handle on common package configurations.

There's a big difference between price fixing and simply trying to price your services in line with the going market value.

Just my opinion.

collusion = price fixing. Thanks.
For more info on collusion see: http://www.answers.com/topic/collusion

I have a ton of questions on pricing and packages also. But I'll offer what I’ve been told. After putting together what i thought were some nice packages i was told by a well respected photographer here in Houston I shouldn't go the package route. She said it limits your sales. What she did suggest was print credits instead. I know she practices this method and does very well. Only a suggestion.

So lets say you want to charge a $40 sitting fee. You may have a $100 charge to reserve the time. $40 goes towards sitting fee and $60 for print they can order. If you chage $20 per sheet then they will get 3 sheets of whatever they want 3 8x10 or 1 8x10, 2 5x7's and 8 wallets, or it can go towards 16x20 print which may cost $80. All these numbers made up so dont hold me to them.

Another thing that may help you out is to go with a lab that offers packages and then base your prices that way. I mean I know this thread wasnt about prices, but it gives you an idea.
here is who I use if I am going to do prints and packages.

They are based in Texas but they ship. no matter how much they ship it is only $4.50 per day.
