My first paid gig!

A guy hired me to shoot him in a bicycle race. First time I have been paid, so that was kind of cool. It feels like a validation of sorts (certainly helps with the wife, in justifying the 70-200 2.8 IS!).

But I was nervous as I was driving home. Nervous about how the shots would turn out. After all this is a bicycle race, and you don't get to pose the cyclists. And he wasn't always in an advantageous position. I had to hustle around the course to get to different locations, knowing that I would only have a limited number of opportunities.

All in all a good experience. I'll post pics later in the sports forum when I have post-processed.

Congratulations on the paid gig! I looked at some of the photos on your blog, and I have a feeling you'll be getting many more paying clients in the future. :)

Congratulations! That's very cool. I actually prefer taking unposed photos... but that can make it more difficult, especially with a zooming bicycle.
