Photo Business Management Software - 04-28-2005, 01:25 PM

Photobyte is some software for managing a photo business, including imaging, legal forms, etc. And best of all it's now free:

Looks like a nice piece of organization and accounting software. I have worked with a few accounting software titles and I have found Microsoft to make a quality product, but I have not seen one where it combines a specific field, like photography, with accounting. Very nice, i'm downloading it right now.

It seems odd that it used to be 1200 dollars, but now is free? What's up with that, anybody know?

Thank you for the link -- even though i'm not a prof photog, I am an economics majoring and I like to think relatively savvy in business, always enjoy these types of things!

I think alot of their point now is to get you to buy the book they sell that supposedly teaches you to optimize your photo biz management with the software.

I downloaded the program, you don't have to buy the book. Have anyone else tried it? What do you think? I am a little confused with it.

I think that's how they make their money - it's confusing enough to need the book to make it work to it's fullest.

It's the same marketing theory as Quicken - they make as much money from official classes and help books than they do witht the software.
