This is a public event? Anyone can take photos. As long as you don't claim affilitation with the sponsoring organization, I don't see what problem you would have in selling your work to those who are interested. If you were to put an ad in the local running magazines saying you had shot the event, and were selling your shots, I might feel differently. If someone approaches you to see if you have a shot of them, it is your property and you can do as you please.
I shoot many events for organizations. When the local paper photog shows up, I don't tell them that I am contracted for the event and they can't shoot. I try to expedite their needs and go on about my work. If the customer doesn't want any other photogs at their event, it is their responsibility to take care of it. |
