I would like to make Gaylord Texan Resort aware of my photos that I shot there back in August. Who would you recommend I contact? I've never promoted my work in this way so that's why I'm asking.

We would just show up with a framed print for them, if it is some place you really want your work to be located. We have noticed that seems to work better than asking and dealing with finding the right person etc.

And its a nice surprise for the staff (and they'll talk about you and your images) if its a surprise.

Then people also have the thing, where if its framed, they can't throw it out b/c its worth something. So make sure its framed...And even have a photo hook taped to the back of the frame. It'll be hung faster than a phone call.

My other 1/2 is out doing that with some recent images right now...

Good luck!

Usually there is an event manager that plans the events. If you contact this person they will probably get you into the process of becoming a preferred vendor. That person will probably make you come in with a portfolio, price-list, and an interview. There will probably be like two to three people at the interview, and then if they like your work. You'll be given fairly free reign as to what you bring in. Like sample albums, prints, etc. It's always a good idea to start with the event manager, because they work with all the brides. So if you make a good impression you can have an advocate in the early stages of planning a wedding. Since, we know that the first thing brides do is shop for a location, this is a good person to have in your corner. While a print is nice, you could very well be donating a frame to whomever wants it.

I believe that, from thier website, I got the name of the public affairs department and talked with them about shooting some headshots in the Atrium. They were very helpful as far as hotel policies and I am sure they or the event manager would be the ones that would be the most interested in photos of the facilities.
