Apparently I looked like a real photographer - 10-30-2006, 04:54 PM

I went to a costume party friday thrown by Farnsworth Bentley (puff daddy's assistant from MTV's Making the Band). Well I took my Nikon d50 and SB600 with me to get shots of my buddies actin crazy in costume...and maybe to have memories of the traditional nurse costume outfit. Well Mr. Bentley approaches and asked me for a card. He says he noticed me takin shots all night and that he's interested in buying images that I took. On top of that, the party's promoter also wants me to start snapping at his events and wants to work out a per-event price...and also wants to buy images from the party to use on his website.

Being as though I mostly just show up to sporting events and sorta get hired on the spot by parents, I have absolutely no clue as to where to set my prices. How much do you gals & guys charge for stuff like this? I'm open to any comments/thoughts/suggestions on how to set a per-image price for this guy and a event price for the promoter.

HELP!!!!

does he really want a cost per image or can you maybe offer the images on CD for a set cost?
usually for events like this, I would charge an hourly rate and give the images on CD (while retaining the rights of course) allowing them limited printing and publication rights
