Question Source for 4x6 print envelopes? - 11-01-2006, 10:28 AM

Remember the old days when you used to get your pictures from your Kodak 110 Instamatic back from the drugstore? The photos came in an envelope with a large flap over the front. Not gummed--I don't want the kind that seal.

I'm looking for a supplier of plain white (or generic print) paper envelopes to deliver bulk 4x6 photos. I must not be googling correctly, because I'm not finding what I'm looking for. I'm sure I'm not searcing right, because these shouldn't be that hard to find.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Unless you're a drugstore, I don't recommend giving your clients the pics in an envelope. :)

Thanks. I wouldn't do that for portraits, but when I have parents too afraid of the internet to order photos that way, and I'm printing out anywhere from 1 to 30 or more 4x6 football pictures (at $4 each) for them, I'm not using rag folders.

If you have another economical suggestion for bulk photos, I'm all ears.

Charge $5/per and give them the pics in a nice $20 book. I guarantee you'll get more orders.

But if you're set on envelopes...I've got nothing, sorry.

I appreciate the suggestion, but I'm afraid you don't understand the process with football parents. These are action shots from football games. This is low margin transactional business, and the prints go straight into mom's scrapbook. The parents usually get them direct from the printer (via smugmug); much different from the kind of (very nice, by the way) work you're doing. I just have a handful of parents that don't want their CC #s on the web (because, you know, that's the only way CC fraud ever happens--right? )

This is a need I rarely have, but I have it now. I was in business development and marketing for 17 years, and appreciate the importance of product presentation more than most. For this, I just need envelopes.

This is great info. I'm going to go check out these places. I've been looking for something like this for several months now. I'm in the same boat as you, needing an occassional way of delivering those 4X6 action photos that moms immediately put straight into their kids' scrapbooks.
