Car Magnets - 11-06-2006, 12:43 PM

I wanna get some opinions on car magnets. I'm gonna get some made when I move to PA.

***NO BASHING ALLOWED!!!*** I just wanna say that up front.

So, I am thinking, like a business card-type magnet. I want magnets so I can take them off easily when I go to jobs, but have them on when I drive around. This place seems like the best deal, and good quality. http://www.sdcal.com/doorMags.htm

I wanna have one main pic, my name, website & number. I also want people to know I do weddings, but I think it might be cheesy to put a wedding picture on there. What do you think?

If there is a FastSigns near you, check with them. I think mine were like $40 per 12x18 (I think). You get the benefit of talking face to face and seeing a sample.

I'll second that request. And can you stand in front of your car with two or three cameras around your neck?

i also love fast signs... great company.

i've gotten many referrals from the decals on my car, booked at least 4-5 weddings form them. i also got my car broken into and all my portfolio work stolen... so that's something to think about.

if you are going to put signs on your car advertising that you're a pro photographer, never, ever leave anythign of value in your car. i'd never have imagined someone would take my wedding albums, but they did (probably thought it was equipment). crazy.

i leave them on for meetings and jobs. makes it easier for my clients to recognize me, and whenon jobs, lets everyone at the event know who i am. perhaps they will see these wedding pics and say "yes, i'd like to use that photographer as well".

Do you have to make any chages on your car insurance or anything? Someone told me that if you put those on your car you have to have the car covered with buisiness insurance?

On the insurance part, you only need commercial insurance if your clients actually ride in your vehicle. And I stopped doing that several years ago.

Nice site! I love the colors and clean look. Did you make it or hire someone? I can't see your logo, tho, will you share?
