Yeah, Scott--That's always been one of my favorites of yours.

On the bright side, you may get some exposure.

At least he was kind enough to keep your copyright statement on the image.

Hmmm...I I wasn't thinking about the Photobucket thing when I first read this. I would like to know who profits from prints or other objects made through the Photobucket print option and chase that direction. Send a nice PRINTED letter via normal mail channels nicely asking where the profits go and ask them to disclose to you how much money they've made from your images in anticipation of you sending them a bill for usage fees. Also ask them to provide to you a Usage rights agreement related to said photos. They say they want a bunch of info proving you're the copyright holder, drop the ball in thier court and see if they can prove they are not profiting from your work. The copyright notice on the photos saying they are your should be quite enough to prove they are your images. Don't forget to use your official photographer's letterhead on that letter you are going to send them. Alternately, you could get an attorney friend to send them the same nice letter on his/her letterhead. No mention of lawsuits, just a request for disclosure ought to get their attention or get you paid. Remember, you have other state laws helping you in this too.

I have a friend who went through something like this. He used his PPA membership to strong arm the company.

Photobucket is a rather profitable operation. If you have your images on file with the Copyright Office....(LIKE EVERY PRO SHOULD!) then it might be profitable to you to seek some sort of legal course.

even if you walk away with only $1000...that ain't bad....

That's great Scott.. Now what keeps him from doing it again? :(

Hopefully, he'll get the message though.

I just found an image of mine on MySpace as well...Although I did shoot for these guys and gave them some images for website, I did have my copyright on them.. It was removed in this "publicity poster".

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...eID=1358497119

I am not worrying about it...They are sorta my friends (I shot a video for em as well...).. But it does "sorta" bug me...

Glad you got it resolved.
