Emailing contract info...what format? - 11-27-2006, 12:33 PM

I don't have adobe acrobat to create my own pdf files. I"m wondering what everyone is using when emailing contract information to your clients. Is there anything else out there besides pdf files that look polished and professional? I don't mind splurging a little for something I"ll stick with in the longrun, but wanted to get ideas before I do...

thanks!

There are some free pdf creators out there (http://www.primopdf.com/) for one. I only use pdf's for contracts as they are a little harder for the end user to change things without me knowing. Word docs are just too easy for someone to switch something they don't like. Yeah, I know, but you have to CYA....

PDF would be the way to go.

I use pdf995 to convert ANY file format and I mean ANY file to a PDF. its free, but you have to be connected to the net so you can get a pop up to advertis other pdf995 products. I have been using it for years and it works great.

http://www.pdf995.com/download.html

basically this is a print driver and you just print the file from what ever program you are in and select the "pdf995 printer" and chose a location to save the file and you are done.

I use PrimoPDF also, anything you can print can be converted to a pdf

i am old-fashioned and will only accept original hard copies of contracts.

not only because people can change things electronically and i'm not savvy enough to know how not to let that happen... but because i color-code my contracts and it makes my messy desk more workable.

pdf rules.

Mac OS has it built in, but at the office I use Acrobat 7.0 standard. Well worth the investment IMHO.

PDF is good. I have Cute PDF They have a free version that has no ads. All it is basically is installing another printer called Cute PDF printer and pick that printer when you print and want a pdf document. I use it all the time in CAD for client review of plans. Works great for email purposes too!

PDF to send it to them, and insist on a hard copy snail mailed or hand delivered back.

K. this is my first attempt at making a pdf.

I used the PrimoPDF creator.

I"m not sure if the security settings are correct because it wouldn't allow me to uncheck any of the options to NOT allow users to change it or add comments - the section was greyed out.

My only an option was to set a password which I did not use.

oh yea and how do i keep it from creating a second blank sheet?
