GraphiStudio - sales questions - 11-30-2006, 12:53 PM

1) can you buy their software that provides the different design layouts (Director, Studio, Panorama, Design & Reportage) to do it yourself?

2) if so, do you know how much it is?

3) Do you give your clients a price sheet or do you ask them to decide on # of images and then tell them you'll have to come back w/ a quote?

....there are SO many variables to making a graphibook that I don't want to come up with 50+ combos of what things may cost.

#3. We have them choose a set number of images (usually 30) and then the studio goes back and pulls complimentary shots, detail shots, and other things to fill in the details of the day to match they couples style. We price according to that. If they want more images, I thought Graphi had a set price for the # of images - like and extra 75 pics is $_____. You could copy that plan, if you are desinging htem yourself.

People seem to have a hard enough time choosing images - we ususally have 3 suggestions and have the prices on all 3 so they can choose on the spot.

When you say 3 suggestions, you mean something like 40,50 or 60 images and a sample of what each could include?

You're letting Graphi design the book for you right? I'd rather buy their software, if i can and have control over it....do you know if that's possible? i left a message but haven't heard back from them yet....

Yes, you can design your own Graphi album. It knocks $150 off the price.

We offer 3 flat options - they have different covers, sizes, etc. It seems to be a good starting point. Less confussing. And most people want to buy whatever is in front of them. So our samples are the different versions. Then you can charge the same for the extra photos added on as Graphi does. I'm pretty sure they ask you to select a set number of images based on the template you choose.

And with any album (artleather or coffee tables) I have them choose 30 primary images and then go from there. We might add a few secondary images, and then I add the final touches. We take a lot of detail shots at weddings that arent seen by the B&G unless they purchase this type of album. They see an online proof before the album is ordered.

There seems to be issues with wanting every image taken at the wedding in the album. By reducing it so much, it allows me to play with the layout more. It also makes the person decide which images are their favorite and I treat the images accordingly.

Hope that helps a little...
