LightScribe - 12-06-2006, 01:14 PM

I just finished my first LightScribe CD, and I must say that it is far more professional looking than those print-n-stick labels. It took 17 minutes to burn at the "Best" quality setting, which isn't a bad thing since I was able to continue working while burning.

I highly recommend LightScribe if your burner will do it as it will reflect better on your business IMO.

I like them too but have only been able to find the DVD's in gold.
Wish they came in a brushed silver and shiney silver

That is so awesome to hear!! On my new toy...er, PC, LightScribe is included but I haven't tried it out yet. You have to purchase the LightScribe CD's right?

Nope..LS drives are really cheap now. The media used to be the expensive part, but I'm sure that has dropped in price too!

And ditto...I luv LightScribe!

Disks are still a little expensive, but I think probably less than buying disks and labels.

Ugggggh. They take FOREVER, though. I wasn't all that happy with it, to be honest. I bought a lightscribe-capable drive 4 months ago and have used it once.

maybe i should give it another try.

they do take forever. I think the design i drew up took about 25 minutes to burn ......but i dont burn a DVD for a customer that often so I figure that will be fine

The design I burned was very simple: title, subtitle, and a bow graphic. I can see, however, how a more complex design could take longer.

I have a LS drive and have tried a couple of times but could not get the image printed dark enough. I have not given up yet but just put it aside until I have more time to determine what I am doing wrong.

I've got one in my computer, but have never tried it except for normal DVD/CD making (then label with a sharpie -just backups)
Guess I'll have to figure out how it works.
