Need a business logo? - TPF PS Logo Contest - 12-10-2006, 10:03 AM

Daniel Bates won the last round of our Photoshop contest, and has decided to make the next round of competition a logo design contest. As he is not in great need of a logo, he is opening it up to see who else would like to have their fellow TPF'ers design or update their logo!

If you are interested, reply to this thread with:

- Why you need a new/redesigned logo
- What you are looking for in a logo
- Old logo example, sample or link to your site to give us an idea of the style you seek

Once we pick a project we will post it in the PS Challenge area, and run it through the holidays!

Thanks!

Why? I've been needing something I can use in emails, business cards and letterheads.

What? I am a total minimalist, and seek something crisp, clean and modern looking but that is minimal in design. I want something that stands out and just looks sleek. What should it say? Well, simply, my name "Eric S. Swist".

Examples: I shoot Sports photography; though I feel the logo should be semi-independent of the photo genre. You can take a look at my work at (www.ericsswist.com)

I'm also in the search for a logo.

What should it include?: Ideally I would like a Sun (in line drawing, maybe tribal or celtic), with a shutter diaphragm in the center.

Also I am partial to Blues for the color scheme, but the logo must be able to print in B&W (for letterhead faxing) and use as a greyscale watermark.

It'll be the logo for my company "Sun Stock Photo", and incorporated in the website Sunstockphoto.com.

A simple one I did that I've been using is below.
(It's the only copy I have left, the original larger I hand made was lost in a computer crash)
I've been tempted to get the one I have as a Tattoo, but have a tattoo artist redraw it first. Maybe the winners will end up as skin art!

I need a new logo as I've never had one and am not creative enough in that area to do it myself.

I am looking for something fairly simple, either focusing on the letter "P" or on the name Photographics

I need a logo as well. Something to put on Business cards, website, photos, and email.

I want it to convey creative photography. I dont really know what exactly i am looking for. Something simple.

Okay, we could use some help. Logo... eh, kinda. We just found out that using our current name and font for a studio sign will cost us about $6,000! The cost is high because of our font, name, etc.

So, we're trying to come up with something more useable (read affordable) for our sign. The catch - it has to use our name, or at least "Belle's" and identify us as a photography studio even if you find a way to cut the word "photography." And it is a "channel sign" - individual letters/shapes. No illuminated boxes with a slide in front.

Help! Our current name and design are here: bellesphotography.com

Just FYI - every other store in the development paid under $3600 for their signs!!!

Why- I don't have a logo and I've had a few ideas given to me, but nothing has really worked out. I can't really come up with any picture in my head to go along with JAG Family Photography. I need it as well for business cards, website (to be created, domain is already saved), etc.

What- I am looking for something very simple that will look good on portrait photography indoors or outdoors. I don't want to say girly, but curvy lines and flowing. The letters JAG must stay in all caps.

Thanks for the consideration,
Lisa

---why do I need one?

Because I don't have one ever. LOL.

---what do I look for?

Well. It's hard to say because I don't have old one to compare. But I think it could be simple and contain "Y-Channel (my future website name. LOL)" in it.

Appreciate if Daniel can design one for me. : D

Wow, thanks for the great response!

It was hard to choose, but ndsimm will be the first subject for the PS Logo Challenge.

Feel free to enter your submission in the contest. If you win, we can design your logo next time around.
