Sorry, I don't know of any, but if you find one (through "yellow page roulette" or other means) that you think is worth recommending, I'd be interested to hear!

I am not aware of any CPA's that specialize in "photography." You would probably be just fine contacting a reputable CPA firm and explaining your needs. Photography isn't complicated when it comes to the record keeping and tax concerns. Most any CPA would be able to answer questions and concerns about this business and/or prepare your taxes.

Here is one reputable firm in Texas City: Griffin Iles Masel & Duvall - Mike Griffen, CPA 409-948-4406.

My CPA works with people all over the world. It took me 3 CPA's to find this one and I would not trade him for anything. I have had him now for about 6 years I think and he has saved me tons. James Nix, NECO INTERNATIONAL, INC. 972-434-3050. He has been a CFO and has now worked from home for 20+ years. SO he knows both large & small issues of tax returns. Knows the tax laws.

Brian Bartz.. in Nassau Bay..and quite surprisingly he was very nice to me.. considering i'm not a large business etc.. He said he could help me more if I ever wanted to go LLC etc but as a SP there wasn't much that I didn't know or was doing already that he'd do differently.

It was a good meeting and it was very nice of him to spend the time with me . I'd definitely touch base with him if I ever needed a CPA for more serious stuff, for now with this SP thing... i've decided i'm gonna float on my own for a while and concentrate on my portfolio and booking and getting paid.

One thing to ask any CPA is their charges...Is it by the billing hour (which can eat you alive in some cases because in the beginning a phone call to and from learning what you need to know can add up billing time for the CPA) or do they have a set fee per month for everything you need done. In the beginning (learning stage) time is on your side, towards the end it might switch over some to the CPA, but at least you know what you are spending every month for this tax deductible professional expence. Example: Pay $75.00 a billable hour or a flat $100.00 a month for any and every thing. I will pay the $100.00 a month or $1,200.00 a year for a CPA in my corner on retainer any time I need them for my professional and personal needs.
