Model release... for pets?? - 01-08-2007, 11:32 PM

Shooting some puppies tomorrow at a pet store with hopes of parlaying that into some prints for their owners...

I'd like to have something they (the owners) can sign so I can use the images for promotion.. was thinking of just using a Minor release (where the minor would be the pet and the owner would be the guardian?)

D.

Anyone have a "pet" release?

i'd just treat them like you'd treat someone's kid... because basically, for pet owners who will purchase pics of their dogs (somethign i'd do...lol), it's not all that far of a stretch.

It's called a property release. Although we may treat them like family, at this time they are considered property by the law.

Any standard property release will be fine. Just describe the pet and have the owner sign.

Scott is absolutely right. You need a property release. And if the pet is registered with a organization (AKC, Jockey Club, etc.) name the pet by thier official registered name and identification number.

Prophet out.
