CPA suggestions - 01-12-2007, 09:53 PM

Can anyone havea CPA with reasonable rates that would recommend? I'm looking for someone to talk to and get some basic sole proprietorship, LLC sales tax questions answered and someone to do my taxes this year.

Thanks for any recommendations.

One thing I learned from a non-CPA a few years back is you don't have to be a CPA to do bookkeeping for the public, which seems odd- but don't necessarily limit yourself.

I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I— I took the one less traveled by,
and then it petered out and I had to retrace my steps and wasted half a day.

CPA.......Certified Public Accountant. They take a battery of test to become a CPA and the test are extremely hard. Plus they have to take various classes each year to remain a CPA. Bookkeepers do not.

If I remember correctly, the CPA test is in 3 or 4 sections and each section has to be passed. They can retake a section that they don't pass over but only once I think. I have known bookkeepers who after studying for many many months, failed the test and are still bookkeepers.

If I was ever audited by the IRS , I would rather have a CPA helping with that than a bookkeeper.
