CPA.......Certified Public Accountant. They take a battery of test to become a CPA and the test are extremely hard. Plus they have to take various classes each year to remain a CPA. Bookkeepers do not.
If I remember correctly, the CPA test is in 3 or 4 sections and each section has to be passed. They can retake a section that they don't pass over but only once I think. I have known bookkeepers who after studying for many many months, failed the test and are still bookkeepers.
If I was ever audited by the IRS

, I would rather have a CPA helping with that than a bookkeeper.
