Guidelines for a Photoshoot - 01-24-2007, 10:55 PM

I need some help brainstorming guidelines to give to customers to prepare them for a photo shoot. I am going to be shooting realtors/broker agents.

So far this is what I have come up with to get them prepared:

* Get a good night's sleep before your session
* What to wear: Most people photograph best in dark, solid colors. Please avoid wearing white or light pastels or anything with a pattern. Also, don't forget jewelry such as simple earrings or a necklace to complete your look. It's a good idea to bring several changes so that you can be photographed in more than one outfit. Clothing should be clean, pressed and free of lint.
* Duplication of your prints. We will be happy handle it for you for an additional fee.
* Call or e-mail with any questions.
* Please be on time. We want to give you every bit of attention you deserve. Your promptness will ensure that you receive the highest possible level of service.

I took this from another web-site...any other insite would be very helpful

Thanks

~KJ

I was only half-way joking. However, the contract that I have my customer's sign has them pay half the retainer up front, and the other half at the time of the shoot. If you do something similar, it may not be a bad idea to remind them of that fact.

Just a thought.

This is actually a pretty good list. I really need to put one together for my clients, AND one for me. Things like: remember extra batteries, remember to set WB, remember to remove the lens cap, etc...

Ladies - makeup like you are going to a formal party. This may be redundant with RE agents since they are in the public eye all day. Some companies don't deal with the public and the ladies show up looking like they don't really look at themselves in the morning.

what about makeup and hair styles?
remind the ladies to wear the proper amount for a professional look
a recent haircut/hairdo would help as well as to prevent frizziness/split ends
even though they are wearing dark colors, make sure the colors coordinate - black suit/white shirt/blouse or dark blue with white or light blue....no neons or patterns in the shirts, ties, scarfs, etc.....

Thanks, all very helpful. With the hair and make-up should I offer stylists for an additional fee? Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks
