which is best to use? - 02-06-2007, 11:08 AM

I am looking at laptops, which I want to use while out and out with clients as well at home. I have seen many with photographers with macs and pcs. So my question is which one is best to use being a photographer?? and WHY?

Thanks in advance.

Whoa! What a dangerous question! lol. If it's primarily for photography, make sure to get a laptop with at least 1GIG of RAM if not 2 and get a processor with a large cache, preferably the intel core duo. That will give you the processing power you need for stuff like photoshop.

Kinda like asking "which is better: Canon or Nikon?"

It's all dependant on your needs and usage, and what you are confortable with.

I'm a PC user, have been a LONG time, and use PC based laptops. But if I had a budget that did not get spent on lenses, I might choose a Mac laptop for field use, as I like their graphics handling. But I would probably keep a PC laptop as backup since I am not used to macs and I might screw it up.
