Business Card ??? - 02-19-2007, 09:32 PM

I have a question!??!?!?!?

Does anyone keep the same design for their business card?? OR does anyone CHANGE the design when you run out and need to order more?? I ask this question because I like to change mine OFTEN! I am not sure if its good or bad for business?? So I thought I would see what others do! I guess I get creative and want newness! anyhow Just wondering whatcha think.

Same basic design, but I change the pictures on it each time. Recent brides love it when their face is on the business card and love to show their friends!

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

My 1st card was nice (Mike hated it). 2nd card was bad. Changed it again. And now we are on our 3rd design. All 3 studio peeps have the same card (in different colors), which matches the website, logo, and letterhead. Before the cards were disconnected, so creating continuity would be a good change. And I was happy with this last batch - simple, effective, and funky...and the personalized color helps sort who got who's card...which helps us track where leads are coming from. Whach ya thinking of? You'll have to post your next card design.

Personally, I like the design on #4. But parts of your contact information kinda mixes with the background. Not sure what to suggest to make it 'pop' out more.

I've changed my business cards at least 4 times so far since last year. But currently going the 'do it yourself' route since my office has a professional printer so it's no big deal. I always had a hard time trying to pick out the images I wanted on my card so I'd change it each time I needed to print more. Ironically, my preferred card so far turned out to be the one with no image, just my company name and contact information.

I like the yellow one the best. One thing - people may not realize you are the same studio if you switch your name around. Consistency is important otherwise they may think you're someone else.

I'm voting for the yellow one too. Just a little different and exciting!

No offense, but they all look pretty generic, or template, designed. Are you making these yourself? Photographers shouldn't try and be graphic designers unless they have a legitimate background in that field. Probably wouldn't cost more than a hundred bucks to have a designer make one for you...which would pay for itself in professionalism.

Actually I would consider myself pretty creative! I am also a scrapbooker and I design lots of things on my own. Only one of them is a template but I did the others. Maybe I should try being a bit more creative. I am also the kind of person that thinks why pay someone $100 when you can do it yourself for free. anyhow I will try to think up some other things. Thanks again!

I like the yellow one as well. Are you using a scrapbook paper pattern background? Or is that the template one?

Nicole, I dont think they look too generic. They could use a little more pop. I like the yellow. My 1st card was yellow. It attracted the eye faster in a pile of cards. If you want it to look more custom, play with the layout a little more - and make the whole thing to avoid duplicates. So far, even with all the templates, I've yet to see repeat cards. I've seen a lot that look similar. But the yellow one stands on its own in my head anyway...

I'll be changing mine each time I run out. Which will take quite a while.

This is the current one...
Came out ok, and the paper itself is badass. Has a milky creamy feel to it, really weird.
But the printer had trouble with the die-cut holes.
My cards typically only go to people who already know me so no pics needed.
