So, I noticed at this time of year there are a lot of bunny photos. Im assuming the bunnies for the most part are real.
So my question is - do you sedate the bunnies? Why don't they just run away and claw people?
I have 2 mini rex bunnies. They dont mind being held, but you put them on the floor and generally speaking, they bolt. So, what do you recommend? Carrots??? New bunnies??? Chicks??? | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

Get them up off the floor, on a small space where they won't want to move around much. Something like a TV tray w/ a towel over it for traction might work - that's about the size of the grooming tables we used to have when we were actively showing rabbits. Then you can give them a little snack, a chewy one, or peanut butter works well. They'll sit & "taste" the peanut butter for a while, until it goes away. It helps to have 2 people (one to be the RabbitWrangler & one to do photos).

Thank you Kim, that's helpful. On bunny practice shoot #2 I'll try that and let you know how it goes. Any other tips?

Coming from the "eat the bunny" crowd, what are you taking pictures of? Are the bunnies a prop?

Don't get me started on how we got the bunnies...Mike likes bunnies.
The bunnies are a prop for Springtime photos. Or they will be if they dont run around and claw the clients. My kids LOVE the bunnies, so we have been practicing here.
Turns out. Bunny will sit on a chair. Not sure how to line up the shot if the bunny has to be isolated so he wont move. I'll have to think about it. And Im so freakin allergic to bunnies. I cant even see what im tyoing. off to take benedryl or something that's spelled kinda loike that.

Here are my futile bunny attempts...
I'll dress the kids all cute when I glue the bunny to the floor.

We have always used just weaned baby bunnies. They are usually pretty docile. We get three or four from the pet store for $10.00 each then we use them for a week or two then sell them back to the pet store for $5.00 each. I call that a win-win for everyone. We have also given a bunny to the client who gave us the nicest order. If you work with a set and put the bunny in the childs lap they will usually be calm for a couple of minutes.

Im thinking, if we got baby bunnies for the sessions, I'd suddenly have more bunnies than I wanted. Like a bunch.
Has anyone tried the bunny mits/ paw covers to keep them from scratching? Just wondering.

Here are my lame attempt at bunnies. Thought you might get a laugh. Freakin bunnies. Using big easter eggs would have been so much less...less like bunnies. No fur, no teeth (well, unless you got a weird one), and no allergy eyes for the rest of the day.

I love that first shot where the bunny's booking full speed right in front of the kids. :) We used to raise rabbits ("eat the bunny" crowd!) so I find house-rabbits funny to begin with.

Yeah, probably you need to change the bunnies names to Snowball. What animal named Snowball scratches up little kids?
You guys with the duct tape, sedation and stuffing are getting way to involved. You really just need 4 drops of super glue.
Sorry, no real help :) | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
