Studio Furniture - 03-05-2007, 09:55 AM

I was wondering where I could get some studio furniture? I looked in all the normal spots.

I was wondering if there were any hidden online stores that might have good deals. Right now I can find a reception desk (well, I can but the ones I like are all over $3K). Anyone have any ideas where to look?

THANKS!

Just put everything on the floor, including your computer and camera and whatnot. Think of the artistic statement it will make when you invite customers to have a seat on the rug!

yEah some of the used places have some high end furniture for less than 1/2 price. Keep an eye out for business foreclosure auctions, were a bunch in the last downturn that had great furniture.

Holly, Most furniture stores rotate their inventory at least once a year so you may want to call them up and ask them when they do this and perhaps get some great deals. Ok so I learned this on OPRAH and I tried it about a year ago and I saved $200 on a lazy boy recliner. :-)

Try Craigs List, Antique Stores, Newspaper, etc. You may have to go to the
"city" to find what you need. How quickly do you need it? We may be getting rid of all of our office furniture SOON. I will know by Friday.

Thanks all!

I tried Ashley, WalMart, Sams Club, Costco, BJs, Target, a bunch of online no names...Antique shops, flea markets, garage sales - can't find nothing that will work for the main piece Im missing.

The main thing I need is something that I can use as an anchor piece when people walk in. Everything is super swank. The closet thing I could find to what I want is this:

Any ideas? It just needs to be a nice podium looking thing - not a desk. Budget is as cheap as possible. :o) That Ashley thing is $1,000. The cheapest thing I found so far is $500. Trying to come in cheaper than that...but still look swank. Any ideas?

I picked up some nice stuff at a great price a few years ago at a furniture auction. Close examination proved that it was made in Thailand or some such, but it looked cool anyway. You might check your local auction sites or (as mentioned above) estate sales.

You could probably find some interesting pictures while you were out looking, too. :)

Yea, I could. I'll be there on the 17th for a workshop we're teaching. I could pick something up then, if you have any good ideas. If you find anything - take a picture!

Thanks!

HH, I found several items that "I" think would be nice in an office for a "center" piece. I took pics with my cell phome, and If I can find the connector to download it, I wil send them to you. Most expensive was 495.00 least expensive was 275.00
All from one antique shop right down the street from me. Located 10 miles West of DFW airport. You are welcome to call me if you want to hear more.
