Asuka vs. Blurb---Help Me... - 03-06-2007, 10:11 AM

determine if the cost for Asuka is really worth it. I have been happy with Blurb so far, but am wondering if I should kick it up a notch with Asuka.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hmm...sounds like a Hundai vs BMW thread (there are worse and better on both ends, but you get what you pay for).

I'm afraid that's a very subjective question, and all about the money/value to you. If you've seen both, you'll have to judge for yourself. Asuka will send you page samples when you sign up.

More like Chevy vs. Pontiac thread....

With Art Leather and the like being the Buicks... and GraphiStudio being the Cadillac...

Each has its potential place in your price structure.

Graphistudio > Asuka > Blurb > Mypublisher and the like.

And you can really only see some of the differences when you are holding them in your hand and turning the pages. So get your hands on some and see! There's a very good reason some are more expensive than others.

Maybe, if you only by domestic.

I wouldn't agree that Blurb is to Asuka as Chevy is to Pontiac, though (sounds like an SAT question). Having used both, I think Asuka seperates itself from Blurb by more than that.

The colors on the cover on my blurb really sucked.

One man's opinion, though.

I have actually heard that about the orange-y tones on Blurb covers. Mine have always turned out fine.

So, how would I determine if Asuka is really worth that extra money?

MAYBE...a better question would be:

How did you all come to select the company you use for albums? What was your criteria, and where did you place your priority?

Thanks SOOOO much!

From having held products from both companies I think it depends if you are trying to make books or albums.

Blurb is much more geared to the low volume book market.
Asuka to the one off wedding album.
