You have a studio in Lubbock that an ACU kid interned for: Lauren Clark. Our intern was friends with her intern.

I think your on the right track, having the guts to jump in head 1st, but the fastest way to learn is with someone. Our last intern (from the beginning til the end) had improved so much, we hired her.

You might want to squeeze an internship in - they usually aren't too long. At the very least, think about tagging along with her and checking out how she works. She's very young, but seems to have the biz side down - and I like her images. It might be worth checking.

I also thought there was a stunning master photographer in Lubbock...is it Mark? I'm blanking out...

There are lots of good photographers in this area, most are willing to help anyone who will listen, there are a few that seem to be afraid of giving away trade secrets or something. One photographer that I like alot that serves both Amarillo and Lubbock is Ralph Duke

I will look into some of those people. I will probably be looking for a wedding photographer soon because we are wanting to get engagement portraits in the next few months. When I meet with them I will let them know I am a senior photo student and would be interested in an internship or something.

About the small town growing, I lived there for 18 years and the population hasn't changed, and it hasn't changed since I moved. About the only thing there is a school, feedlots, and a gas plant. It is about 45 miles from the closest wal-mart, and the 2 closest wal-marts are not even super wal-marts.

But I guess while we are talking about wedding photographers, are far are they usually willing to travel for a wedding? My wedding will be about 200 miles from Lubbock and 90 miles from Amarillo. About how much extra would it be to have them travel that far?
