If you have copies of your past tax returns as a model of what the appropriate deductions are, etc., you could try to do your own taxes with tax software like turbo-tax or taxcut. The costs for the software are tax deductible. If you don't like the result you get, you can alway sit down with a CPA and have a knowledgeable discussion about what makes you feel uncomfortable. This is probably better than just dropping off your records and picking up the results.
Just my pre-tax $0.02 worth which after taxes is equal to $0.01.
