It's simple and to the point, but perhaps you could use the opportunity to show one or more of your marque images? I know I have one image on the front side and a simple logo on the back.

I do like the simplicity, but it doesn't present an artistic photographer to me.

I like it from a design perspective -- very clean design.

Just a couple of minor (mostly personal preferences) points -- I hate dark business cards (plastic ones also) because I can't write on them and they don't scan as well as white one's. I also prefer the term mobile to cell (weird -- I know) on a business card it sounds more professional to me.

I like it, but wondering if you want to make the two items on the left and right on bottom a little larger. Not all of us are in our 20's with 20/20 sight

Already done. After printing a copy and not being able to read it myself, I promptly increased the size of the type.

i don't like it.

it doesn't stand out from most other business cards i've seen.

you have nothing memorable there. no image, no color, no logo, nothing. just your name, and there are a thousand other photographers out there with a clean black business card bearing their name.

other than that, yes it's very clean and nice and informative. but if you want it to make someone decide to call you , i'd go for a little more punch :)

you can now go stick some pins in your voo doo doll of me.

Not at all. I appreciate your candor. You've given me something to think about.

it is clean.. and i like clean cards.. but as a pp said.. it doesnt stand out as a photographer.
it needs a catching image that they will remember.. that will make them want to check out your website..
versus seeing a card, and forgetting to check out your website.. you know?

I really like simple, black business cards. They look more elegant to me, but that's me. Mine is black linen with silver foil stamped fonts. No image to really separate mine from other, just the foil. The one thing I would say is that yours may be a little too simple. there just looks to be a little too much empty space.

Whatever you’re looking for is looking for you, too. The catch, of course, is recognizing it when it pops up in front of you.

I'm not bashing here. I'm just asking because it seems there have been a lot of business card threads lately. But does anybody think we're placing too much emphasis on business cards? Do the cards sell, or does the photographer? Is the business card just a tool in the toolbox, or are we expecting it to be the battering ram to bust the door open? Again- just asking. You seasoned pros definitely know more than I do.

Sorry to hijack the thread- I like the simplistic design.

No problem. It's a valid question. It all comes down to first impressions. When I hand my biz card to someone, it conveys more than contact information to them. It also tells them something about my level of professionalism (business v. hobby), and a really nice card is likely going to be remembered over a cheap, perforated, print-at-home card. Again, it's first impressions.

I understand wanting to look professional, first impressions, branding, etc. With all the discussions on cards lately, I don't know if I can see that a certain font or effect is going to make the difference in more business. I may be wrong though. Maybe a drop shadow, or embossed font makes the difference. And the other thing I question (not doubting, just questioning) is the "remembering" factor, or making your card stand out. Seems like a difficult balancing act to have both a professional card and one that stands out. (ie, there are a lot of titilating and shocking things you could put on a card to make it stand out, or make people remember it. But to keep it professional at the same time would be difficult.)

my line of thought... if i am going to do something to promote my business and reflect upon my skill/style as a photographer, i'm going to analyze it and think it through ;)

some people may not give two shakes about my card. some people may see it and decide i rock. some people may see it and think i'm not ______ enough for them because of the images or font or colors i use.

i deal with a lot of women in my industry. if my card appeals to them, there's that much more of a chance we'll get along and see eye to eye. so that's why my card looks the way it looks.

i believe that my card is quite professional, and that it's memorable.

the card doesn't sell, that is my job to present myself and my portfolio well so that in the end, i do sell... but the card certainly says somethign about my taste.
