Hello! What is the process for getting your photo's into a newspaper, webcast, TV news etc! Is there a certain contact for each news agency to talk to about submitting work, or can just any freelance submit photo's ? Lets say you go to a event, like a demostration or a political gathering and you get some great shots! Is there a way to email them to certain agency's without them being used without you getting paid? I know someone here has the knowledge I looking for and I would be greatful! You have help me out so much in the past, if I could take you all to lunch I would! But it would have to be the dollar menu somewhere!

Every newspaper or news agency is going to have a different contact. There is no universal job position throughout the industry at such for a freelancer to contact. Knock on the doors, ring the phones, and ask who you need to talk to then make contact with them. Every paper, photo agency, wire service, etc, is also going to have their own different policy on freelance work. They are a business after all and how they run it differs from the paper down the road.

Sure there is, with an agreement or contract in place before you do so.

In a nutshell, there is no simple universal answer. You must do the phone ringing, leg work, handshaking, and deal making yourself.

At most papers if you ask for the photo editor you will be directed to the right person. You need to make your contacts before you shoot that dynamite shot though.
