Equipment insurance - 04-04-2007, 04:20 PM

I think this has been covered before, so forgive me ... but, each time I add more equipment, the more I wonder about whether or not it is covered by existing insurance that I have...

What do ya'll do about insuring your cameras, lenses, etc. against loss, theft, and especially accident?

Thanks for the input!

I have mine insured through my Home Owners as an add-on policy (additional policy). This is the type that will cover things like expensive stereo, jewelry, works of art, photo equipment, etc.

Every year I add or delete the itemized listing, depending on what I own at the time. If I make a major purchase during the year, I call them with Model#/Serial# and get it added.

If Photography is your Business, you may need something else.

I have a rider on my homeowners just for my gear. Expensive but it covers everything including my own boo boo's.
