Saturday’s wedding has been processed and is now uploading to my client’s online gallery. My next step is to notify my client that her images are online.
When I first started with my online galleries, I would just send out a quick email (boring), but I soon changed that into something a bit nicer. The following is created by an action and is attached to an email and is then of course sent out to the client who is much more eager to spread the word because she can do so with a nice image from her own wedding.
This next image is created by an action as well, is attached to an email and is saved as a draft. My mail application will automatically send this one out one week prior to the online gallery expiration date.
While this email obviously is a suggestion for the extension of the online gallery, what it really accomplishes is online print sales! The client sees the email and is reminded that they have been meaning to purchase some of the images from their wedding, and they never took the time to print their images off of their DVD. More than likely if they did print some of their images they weren’t that great. At any rate, it acts as a wakeup call, and they order prints as opposed to extending the life of their online gallery. With any luck they will pass this email around as well. Normally we have most of the familie’s email address so we send out a CC to them as well.
