Never used them. I currently use Forbeyon, Leather Craftsmen, and Cypress.

Just a reminder that discussion of pricing that is for professionals only should not take place in an environment where non-professionals have access.

I am putting one together. I haven't seen one yet but I'm putting together a book of my daughter's first school year and wanted to try one out. I'll chime in when I get it.

Thanks! I'm trying to reorganize a family album and was looking at this as an option. Just not sure what the quality will be like. Was going to go the Blurb route but that seems to have pretty mixed reviews.

I had one done a few weeks ago for one of my wifes senior dance students. They loved it and so did the parents. It turned out really well.(I have not seen a "professional book" though. The only thing that I would have done different is to crop the pictures before hand to the size that you want in the book. Also the software can be a little quirky. I had saved a project only to have it eat it when I went to reopen it. I had to recreate it and never had a problem since. I'll be doing one for my parents for chirstmas.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
Larry

Well I just got in my first book today. It took less than a week after sending it. For those of you who use Blurb books, this one has much thicker pages. The Blurb pages are kind of like magazine pages where these are more like cardstock. The one I got was printed on the pearl paper. It has a nice quality and sheen to it. Not that it bothers me but you don't get any "true" whites with this paper though, it's pretty much the color and luster of a pearl. This being said, the colors look pretty accurate to me. The only knock I have against the books at this time is the fact that you can't get a picture on the cover of a hardback book, only the softback. You can get the hardback foil-stamped with 3 lines. Once they actually offer a photo cover or dustjacket, I would take one of these over an Asuka book because of the paper thickness.

Oh yeah, the one thing I would say to watch for when putting one of these together is the loss in the gutter. I don't remember seeing anything from MPix about how much is lost in binding, but after looking at mine it is obvious that some of the center area gets lost. I'd say about 1/4 inch or so. Just something to take into consideration.

Thanks for the review, Martin! You answered some of the concerns I had about the book. Looks like I'll be giving them a try also.

I just received mine. I ordered a softcover and a hardback. The softcover seems a little too flimsy. It reminds me of a kids book. The hardback was nice. I got the black cover with the name embossed in silver, and the pages in linen. I had my wife compare these two with a blurb book. She rated them mpix hardback 1st, blurb 2nd, and then the soft cover mpix. She liked the thickness of the pages of the hardback, and the linen look.
I'll probably use the mpix hardcover for parent books, and more affordable wedding album.

But MPIX is a consumer site...
