OMG! I can't believe how it is. I thought I'd be able to alter settings so it would stop doing that. At least so I can work. Mike has to fix it. I would have brought it back to the store and whapped them with it. Not to mention our other computers can't seem to network with vista. Not impressed. Argh!

Yea, I've heard you even have to ask for permission to go to the restroom.

I think I will have to stay with XP.

I've been discovering that our software products don't run correctly on Vista...

Our answer to date has been "sorry, we do not have plans to fix it"

The real answer is: "We are not going to dedicate hours upon hours to fix a problem that will probably be solved in Service Pack 1."

I'm so thankful that I picked my laptop up from Dell right before they scrapped XP.

I understand that HP re-introduced XP after Vista was released because people wanted XP on their new machines, not Vista.

Best regards,

Hey Matt - If Mike can get it worked out I'll have him email you. When know a tech guy in town, but he seems to hate vista too. Right now its having issues moving RAW files around. I'm guessing I dont have the settings right yet and I am really hoping that it was worth it.

As for networking with 2 other computers that are on XP - isnt that still supposed to work? Since when in MS not compatible with itself?

With ANY new software release there are going to be changes. I guarentee that you can Vista look and feel identical to Windows XP. Even most applications that don't run on Vista can run when using the compatability mode.

I suppose I should start I hate Adobe Photoshop CS3 thread because they changed how RAW works, and stuff. Or how some of my filters don't work with CS3. yadda yadda...

I remember these same threads when Windows 95 came out, windows 2000, and yes... Everyone hated XP at one point too. Now everyone will hate Vista until VistaX comes out, and then we will all talk about how great the good ole Vista days were....
