Delivering Prints to Customer - 05-22-2007, 12:21 PM

Hey, how do you guys package prints when you deliver to customers? Do you put them all in one sleeve or in folders or what? Just wondering.

Depends on what size they order. Paper proofs go in a black box, 8x10s and smaller are wrapped and put in a fancy bag. Bigger prints are usually framed. The nicer you can presnet the prints, the better - IMHO.

Thanks Holly. This is my first real customer - and my first maternity shoot. I'm not charging her much but was wondering if I should do "something" with the prints that will look a little more professional without spending much $$. I'm going to post a few of these shots soon for C&C in a few days.

you can also find very reasonably priced and surprisingly good looking photo albums at scrapbooking stores

Where do you get your boxes, Holly? Would someplace like Hobby Lobby have them?

I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday trying to find boxes to store family photos in and didn't find anything!

I've purchased photo boxes at GardenRidge before and I believe I've seen them at Michael's too.

I always place mine in folders like the one below. If there are several, I wrap them in tissue and put them in a box with a metallic elastic ribbon.

It all depends on the image you want to project to the public. We sometimes use folders imprinted with our studio name. We sometimes use black boxes with a studio logo sticker and a gold cord.

The problem with either of the above are the minimum quantities you have to order for them to be personalized. You can get folders without imprinting from Albums Inc. and Crown Products and several others. I think we get our black boxes from Hartcraft or from Aufinger Box Co. They come in standard print sizes. I think some of the frame companies also carry folders.

You can purchase individual boxes, folios, and what-have-yous from Wooden Nickel. Or get them in sets of 10-12, basically smaller quantities if you are just getting started. I wrap our prints in colorful tissue and put them in the black box. People said they feel like its Christmas when they open up the box. I also leave a few biz cards in the bottom of the box - it tends to get passed around.

You can also purchase pretty bags and foil stickers and that kind of thing from lots of places online. We used Bags & Bows when we 1st started. Lots of places offer similar products - I just liked their CS dept. They were great.

Can't wait to see the images!

I get almost all my stuff there, as they have a warehouse right down the street in Carrollton. Too convenient!
