Wedding Picture Files

How many of you are having customers that want you to do a wedding and they don't want any prints, they just want the files? How are you dealing with that?

I personaly have not done weddings yet but I just changed my pricings from selling prints to selling the files on a cd proofed already as several epople were wanting to do it that way for their babies I figure I was really not making much with my packages so this may be easier and better for me to do!

Wow, the business is changing, aye? I really hate to see this. I'm agreeing to do a wedding this way because it is a friend but I sure don't like it. Especially since you don't have any control over the prints that they get. Did you raise your prices to make up for not supplying prints?

yes but my prices were Suuuuper cheap to begin with so now I am just at where I would like to be I would still recommend bigger than 11x14 to print for them in fact I have a price list for bigger prints so I can do it for them and gallery wraps as well!
we will see how it goes I just changed the prices over the weekend, I have one shoot this Saturday of a newborn baby girl but she has already paid for the package before I changed the prices so after that it will be a test LOL

Good luck. I had my first newborn session this weekend. That baby didn't want to do anything but cry.

Well this thing was pretty weird, the mother is breastfeeding him and also doing formula and for some reason kept giving him the bottle. I suggest she try nursing him and she didn't want to it seemed. THEN, as I'm packing up all my stuff she decides to nurse him and then he was a little angel. It was not a matter of her being shy so I don't know why she waited so long. It was too late for me tho. I'd worked at it for a couple of hours cuz I'm trying to get business, but I wasn't going to unpack all my stuff. It was also my first time to do an African American newborn. He was a cutie tho. I'll post some of the pics in a few days.

It's a lot of fun trying to work a "real job" by day and try to do this other that I love in my spare time. Spare time? What's that?

hahahah I know between the kids, the house, my parents (I take care of my dad's customers... he is a landscaper) and photography I go to bed every night at about 2am and up at 7am
