Hypothetical:

A 16 year old wants to have pictures made for her / his mother’s birthday. I am assuming here that she / he is telling the truth… :)

The mother happens to be a past client. That’s how the minor knows of your studio.

Should you take the pictures – and give them to mom or the minor?

Or make a / both parents come in and sign a model release?

I am not in this situation; it’s just something that crossed my mind today.

I will not shoot a minor unless a parent signs the release and is present during the shoot.
