I have done a few shoots for a pro friend of mine (they were his clients, he set the rates), and now I want to set up my own pricing. I've read through some of the threads and articles on pricing, so I've got a general idea of what to charge (though the rates suggested are across the board). One pro friend suggested a starting rate based per image requested by client + expenses + usage.
Example: a client wants 3 shots from the interior of a house. I estimate it takes 3 hours total time to do shoot. Then it takes around an hour for contact sheets, post processing, etc. The images would only be used on the internet or a brochure. I charge $400 total for the job. Considering I don't have a client base, is this reasonable?
Thanks,
Jim |
