Festivals - 07-07-2007, 10:26 AM

I am looking at possibly setting up at a festival here in the fall. But I have a few questions.
I did these in VA when I was sellng a Product and they worked out well. Cause they could take the Product with them
My questions are, would you print off some of the Nature photos and have them mounted in several sizes for sell that day. Then have others in a "book" that they could order from?
Also have some canvas's hanging some for sell some for promotion of "portraits and a give away?
If you wouldn't do this how would you do it?
This booth would cost me 235 so I have to make sure it would be feesible.
So any suggestions?
TIA

You would have to sell a lot of products to just cover your booth fee. I would consider that too much of a risk for me. Run some numbers. How much would you have to sell to cover all your expenses and pay yourself a decent wage for being there? Then ask yourself if you think you would be able to do that.

I used to get a booth at the county fair, but that was more for new customer mining. I haven't done that in several years.I'm not trying to throw a wet blanket on you, but experience tells me this will not make you money. Good Luck!

OK Thanks Don.
In VA the booths were that expensive. I just didn't know if it would be a good way to get my name out there more.
I was telling dh I would have to sell alot and I would be there the whole 3 days. That is a LONG time to sit in the heat lol
I appreciate your insite

in my opinion, that is three days that could be spent doing something else marketing-wise to get your name out there.

if you've got spectacular nature stuff that can be printed larger (like 11x14 to 20x30 and upwards) and really make people go "WOW!" and want to spend a pretty penny per-print... you might have something.

the booth expense isn't what i'd worry about, though. like bridal shows, getting everything for yoursetup is where you incur the biggest expense.
