Nope, I use Capitol One and I never pay fees for checking. Keep looking, there are Banks out there willing to waive fees just to have your money in the bank!

depending on the amount of business, they will offer you free checking for business accounts......Chase used to charge me a fee until I told them I was gonna move to compass free checking and they dropped the fees.....

Make sure the banks offering free accounts don't limt the number of transactions per month. Also (and check with your CPA) a bank's fee for your business account is probably a trax deductible expense.

Amegy does not charge a fee, but they do limit your monthly transactions.

This recent thread has some info on business checking accounts.

Ditto what Brad said. I go through Wamu and they don't charge me any fees.

Frost Bank is free and their customer service reminds me of the way banks used to be before they automated everything. They treat me like they actually need customers - something you don't find in many banks these days.

I like Wells Fargo!
I have not open one yet, but I do have my personal accounts with them.

A Banker at Wells Fargo informed me, if I open an account I would need some of these items to make the biz account free
1 -biz check account
2 - Credit Card
3 - Online Banking, to check account
4- direct deposit
5 - Savings

Then, if you get a biz loan from Wells Fargo under your biz name not your s.s, the loan does not count against your debit ratio when you need to take out a loan, credit card, car or house!

Just make sure you have a nice biz plan first!

I am working on mine!

Just FYI

You don't have to have these things at Frost Bank. I had three business accounts at WF but found their customer service to be less than acceptable and their extra charges more expensive than their competitors. Also, there was a different person sitting in the commercial chair every time I went in to talk to someone. Just my humble opinion.

Rusty,

Sorry to hear that happen to you.
I always have great service down hear in Sugar Land.
We switched my wife’s accounts from Frost to Wells Fargo. I still like Frost because they’re nice and they’re starting to open more in Houston.
I guess banks are like dSLR; you like them or hate them! (To some people)

Good advice!
