Ordering websites? - 07-28-2007, 09:17 AM

I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find the thread I am looking for.

I have 2 weddings lined up (with engagements & bridals) between now and next April. Not exactly high volume (I don't really like doing weddings much) and I'll probably have maybe half a dozen portrait sittings. I want to find a good site to use for allowing the clients to purchase prints. I want to use mpix for the printing, but I need a good system for allowing clients to login, see their photos and select the size and quantity of prints to order and accept cc payments.

I know about photoreflect and I have an acct there, but that 15% fee burns every time I swallow it. So, any suggestions folks?

I have been trying to do this too- others have told me about Jalbum where you make your own albums and everything, host at your own site, and then send orders to your own lab. I have not gotten it up and running though- there is a way to do it but I have yet to figure it out! Other ones like PR include- EZphotosales, LapPrints, and I am sure there are others out there. Good Luck!

I host on my own site using the EOS Template ....I can take Paypal with it and once you get it set up..it works pretty smooth. The template costs $100 but its a one time fee. Orders get e-mailed to me and I can order prints from anywhere. You can even add coupon codes to give discounts.
You can take a look at one of my sample galleries HERE The password for the first album is Jenn.

I know a guy that does great websites. However, he is paid well for what he does. Unfortunately, much like you get what you pay for in a wedding photographer, you get what you pay for in a webdesigner. If anyone wants a serious website, feel free to contact him. His name is Brandon, and his partner's name is Thomas. The website is www.Arkitypemedia.net He may be able to work something out with you. Tell him Robert told you about his services.

I second that. Just put mine up last week. 125 + 25 a month. Comes with a pw protected proofing gallery (you can set own prices). They don't do fulfillment, but makes it much easier for clients to see / select images.

I have exposuremanger too - they will print and ship as well - 10% isn't bad for all that.

Thanks guys! I've got a lot to check out now. I may start w/the EOS Template, because it seems like the cheapest over-all solution, and since I'm not really bringing in much money, that makes sense. :)
