Good pricing - 08-13-2007, 03:00 PM

Hey guys,

I have a question about pricing some maternity pictures. I don't know what to charge. Can anyone give me some advice. I have no idea of where to begin to price her. She will come to my house and I will take the pictures here.

Any information will be helpful.

Thanks

Danielle

First there should be a creation fee. This covers your time (consultation, shooting, post processing, and a sales appointment), overhead (wear and tear on cameras and computers, utilities, rent, insurance, telephone, etc.), and materials used to show images to the client.
Second would be the actual prints which should have a first print price or an image fee that covers retouching and anything else needed to get an image ready to order. You should also mark up the price of the print itself and include a handling fee to cover shipping and other incidentals.

Thanks, I'll make sure I take all of that in consideration when I price my packages.
