MPIX vs. Local Dallas Labs? Which to choose? - 08-21-2007, 11:09 AM

I keep hearing people talk about MPIX, but are their prints up to snuff for professional photographers?

Or do you recommend local Dallas labs like BWC or Expert Imaging?

Just trying to find the best prints for the best price (MPIX seems to be MUCH cheaper than BWC's photos, just wanted to know the comparison for quality).

Thanks!!

Shannon

MPIX is the consumer arm of Miller's, a lab that professional photographers all over the country swear by... including some really big names.

Couldn't tell you a thing about BWC or Expert... but I use Miller's all the time and its hard to beat have your pictures on your doorstep the next day.

I use BWC to develop my film. They seem to be quite nice, but are geared more towards the professional graphics arts customer. I've seen some amazing work in the lobby of the Richardson location (NB 75 @ Arapaho). They've done well for me, but YMMV.

Good luck.

I use Pounds Labs (thanks Don Barnes) and have been very happy with them. Not sure how they compare price wise to Mpix, but their quality is top notch.

I have used mpix for quite a while and have had only one problem with a print. Customer service resloved my issue very quickly with a reprint on my doorstep in two days. Great service and quality prints!!! I highly recommend them.

MPIX ROCKS While I am one of Miller's top Sponsored photographers in the United States I use MPIX for many things in my business which I feel works better than Miller's, plus both companies have sales on print press items each month so it pays to be a member of both if you can!

They are the best quality out there in many areas.

My clients which buy my negatives I direct them to MPIX so my images look good when they get them back!

Amazing people to work with!!!
