Day Care Pricing - 08-28-2007, 06:01 PM

Anyone have any experience with day cares/MDO programs? My kids MDO program from last year asked me if I was interested in doing the kids fall/spring photos this year and to submit a pricing sheet. Is there a standard pricing for school packages?

When my oldest son was in preschool they had a photographer come and do that. I think I paid $65 for the medium sized package. 1 8x10, 2 5x7s and way too many wallets plus a few stickers. I have no idea what they're charging now, though.

Wow! Around here that package was going for about $29 - and parents were balking at the prices.

PS - Most parents balk about the prices, but buy them anyway. People also come to pay what they expect. So if you are $75 and the last guy was $7, they might get a little grumpy.

Oh - and be fun! I know that sounds silly, but everyone LOVED the fun guy. The grumpy photog that yells a lot - not so much.

I just met with a daycare and am setting up to do pics in Sept. I did 3 packages, and have a add on sheet price. I also added a calendar, puzzle and button. My packages started out at 25$.........That being said, I live in a very small town, so YMMV on this.

hi - i just got the go-ahead to do this for a daycare here in the woodlands, 87 infants and toddlers. we've agreed on a price, and their cut - now...

keep in mind, this is the first time i have gotten this type of job - so ..

do i only print the orders paid? print all - hope they buy? put them online and let them buy from there?

also, do i need any type of release signed for each child BEFORE photographing?

thanks for any and all replies!

janetg
