I wanted to get some thoughts and opinions on this. I have a rep who wants to sell for us as an autonomous entity. She is a stay at home mom who once given the parameters, would generate her own leads, pitch the clients, and ink the contracts. In return she would yeild "X" percent commission on each deal she signs, with a draw off the retainer.
My question is, (and I will preface it with the fact we have already done the IRD work sheets to determine whether she is a "Common Law" employee, or can truly be defined as an "Independent Contractor" which she would be) I am curious as whether anyone has had any experience with a scenario like this, has considered it themselves, or knows someone who has and could speak to some of their reasoning on why it did or did not work out.
I see both pro's and con's to this scenario....just not sure which has more than the other.
Your thoughts? |
