Seling stock images - 10-03-2007, 03:57 PM

I have been waiting around for approval from jupiter images to sell my images as stock on their site. There's no way I would sell out and go with someone like istockphoto, and the process with jupiter is taking so long, so I decided to start my own thing. It's sort of a "halfway point" between the big guys and the microstocks, a godo compromise. I hope to go live in a month, but in order to do that, I need images up there. So, if you would like to contribute, go to http://www.aerosolcheese.com and check it out! I want to sell all images for $49 and will pay 50% of the sale- paypal fees to contributors. Once I have enough photos up there, I am gonna pay to get it on the search engines. Thanks!!!

Neat, something for us to consider.

I was going to sign up, but you don't allow Canon 20D images.

Are you going to require that all images submitted there be only available there, or will they be allowed to be sold on other stock sites?
Will you provide links on the photos to the submitting photogs website also for commission sales?

I would consider it, but WOW - taking 50% of each image sold seems really high. I haven't looked around much to compare, but it still seems like a bit much.

Actually 50% is below norm for big agencies and the large microstocks (who each take about 90%)

Steel, 20D is allowed. sorry. In a month, I will be spending a lot of cash on advertising the site, so I don't really think 50% is all that much. In fact, it's very generous from what many experts have told me. Anyway, So far I have 24 photographers registered, and a lot of them are from Houston. Keepin' it real!!! haha
