Getting rich in photography - 10-09-2007, 03:57 PM

Yesterday was my first day of getting back into the full time photography business. I think I'm going to get rich quick.
A client (PR/advertising firm) called me and said " the clouds are great today. I have a client who can definitely/probably/maybe/sometime use some good cloud shots."
So I jumped in the car and drove to my "secret cloud shooting" location.
I shot the clouds and rushed back home and emailed thumbnails to the client.
Today I was emailed the purchase order for the effort and told to "keep the originals on file and I'll call when we need one". So, I made my first buck ADJD (after day job disappeared) and hope they will pay me a fortune for that perfect cloud shot......... Gotta start somewhere !!

Congrats Tom! Welcome back to the world of corporate head shots and PR events!

Seriously though, best of luck and thanks for all you did for me when I made the jump to full time!

I thought this was going to be one of those 'how do you make a small fortune in photography' (*) questions. Congrats on your cloud sale.

(*) answer, start with a large fortune.

Thanks all. Pete, just remember I taught you everything you know, but not everything I know... (not true, but I've always wanted to say that expression)

It really just means I have a couple of extra days before I have to go downtown and sell a unit of Plasma at the blood center.
