Packages for clients - 10-11-2007, 11:11 AM

I need some input on creating packages of photos for clients. I have organized the packages, the sizes, but I am not sure on how to discount them since they are packages. Does 10% off the total sum sound good? What have some of you guys done?

I do everything a la carte. Probably should do some packages, but just haven't gotten around to it.

I offer 10% off with packages. They're kind of a pain, since I let them choose which image they want in the package. I'm trying to shy away from packages and start to offer "wall collections". Basically the same as a package, except I offer something for them to visualize how the collection will be layed out on their wall. :)

What are your wall collections. I have heard that term before, but don't know what it is. I was taking 10% of, too. Thanks for your reply. ronda

I stopped offering packages. It seemed to confuse my clients more than anything. I now offer a discount when the purchase reaches a certain dollar amount. I also offer a discount if prints are ordered within a week of the gallery going online.

My *Collections* are a glorified Print Credit with a bonus. The more you spend the more it is discounted in adition to more freebies.

Rhonda,
Basically a wall collection is a package of different prints in different sizes. But these contain larger prints. For instance, one contains:

1 20x20
1 16x20
1 11x14
2 8x10

Our packages are for the purpose of up-selling the client. Discounting, for us anyway, just seemed to shoot us in the foot. They bought the same stuff, but we got less money. Since the restructure, they spend a higher dollar amount (win for us) and they get more stuff (win for them). Win win. Hooray! And that's my input tonight.
