This is a little OT but still relevant if someone is interested in Mpix.... How does the upload work? I downloaded the software awhile back, to try to make a calendar, and when I tried to upload the finished calendar, it didn't work. It was soooo slow. I made the images as small as I thought was safe to do considering the size of the images. I would imagine with a book the size problem (more pages) is even worse!

Suzy, I use Millers, not MPix (although they're actually one in the same... Millers being the professional division), so I can't help you. I have no doubt their customer service folks would be glad to though. It's probably something very simple. Call them.

I should own stock in Canon!

I have nothing new to add to this thread, but that's never stopped me before.

I've used Blurb many times for books that were gifts, etc. I don't think I would use them for wedding, portfolio, etc. They are OK, but not what you want to have as representative of your abilities.

Thanks Fran!!

I've ordered from Millers and just as Fran mentioned the turn around time is very fast.

I just received an 12x12 from shutterfly: http://www.shutterfly.com/shop/produ...00/Photo_Books

It's okay for sports, Family etc, but be warned of their logo!

So for OPLOVE sessions, what would you use? Cause Asuka is just too expensive for that.

You could look at DigiLabs as well.. They are similar to Asuka, but less I believe.

I've done both blurb and Mpix. I use the blurb one more as one of my portfolio showcase books. I use the Mpix for my lower end book to sell. Blurb cost aprox $20-30 compared to Mpix $50-70 both depending on how many pages you make. My clients have liked the look of the Mpix linen paper that I use in the mpix books. Looks and feels stronger than the paper of the blurb books.
As far as the upload, with both blurb and Mpix, it does take a while. I did not reduce the image size for either one. I figured I'd get the best print with the largest size as possible. I would say it probably took 30min to an hour with both companies when I uploaded the final product.

Can anyone in this thread comment on Black and White printing by any of these companies? Seems to be a different ball game when you ask about an all B&W book.
