Starting print prices - $2 for a 4x6!!!! Nice enough kid, but still didn't understand all of the settings on his camera and still uses the on-camera flash for his 'pro work'.

I'm all for helping a newbie out when I'm not super busy or something - but this one gave me a chuckle or two.
In a situation like that he will drive himself silly before making any money

It's a big world and full of photographers of all levels. Some beginning the journey, some reaching the end. We are all humans and have many different perspectives as it relates to our lives.

Capitalism is competitive, as is sports, as is photography, as is life. At the end of the day, as tough as things can get, we still have to exercise our humanity and deal with life's frustrations in a hopefully acceptable manner. This is the same no matter what side of the fence one finds themselves on.

I've almost forgotten what it was like to be a teenager, but somehow when I observe the antics of teenagers today, I have to remember that I was once one and somehow survived the experience. Experience should give us enough wisdom to understand the pathways of life, the travails along the journey but also the victories gained along the way.

Speed bumps and barricades have a purpose but only where they're needed. Indeed they are needed; but not to halt someone's journey, but rather, redirect it or reduce the speed of it and therefore benefitting us all.

Something draws us to photography and something keeps a photographer doing what they love and enjoy...

...and some people help us all along life's way! It doesn't necessarily have to be everyone all of the time.
