STATE TAX REGISTRATION QUESTION:adding another person...

I'm going to hunt for this information tonight but wanted to ask here anyway for guidance...

Can anyone tell me the process, if even possible, of adding a person on a TX sales tax permit? For example, a person of a business has filled for a Sales Tax Permit but later decides to bring in a partner. Would they have to apply for a whole new permit or can that person be added.

Tax permits are specific to a business, not to an individual. If you've properly set up your business as an LLC, as a corporation (S or C type) or even as a sole proprietorship/partnership with a DBA, the tax ID is assigned to the business, regardless of employees or principals.

Just call the comptroller's office - they're very helpful.

You can login and add a person. I remember seeing it online when I applied for my sales tax permit.
