So on average how long do you give yourself and tell your client before the photos will be posted on-line for their viewing?

How many of you do post work before you post on-line for client viewing? How many do your post after your client has already picked the photos?

Frames and matting around photos for web posting in your website galleries - a no-no, okay, cheezy, etc??? Opinions

I'm pretty fast, so

#1) usually in 48 hours or so
2) yes, after they've picked? I just show the "final finals"
3) I'd say unless you're selling wedding albums, no.. I think it's cheesy...

Okay so let me see if I understand, after a shoot you post all the photos you took and then you post process after the customer picks from there?

For a regular session I don't offer any online viewing. They all have to come in for a slideshow/sales presentation.

For weddings my average 4 to 6 weeks. My contract says "average" and may be longer during holiday time. I do develope and color correct all the photos I show. I pick 50 of the best ones and spend a little extra time on those and put those into a "photographers" favorite catagory. I also make a slideshow of my favorites. The bride and groom come to my studio and I project that slideshow. Then I give them the password to see the rest of the online images as well as give them their printed proofs.

I think presentation is very important. I like to control at least the first time of how they see their photos. You never know what their monitor at home looks like. Etc... At that time I give them paperwork and we discuss album design etc. I like to do that stuff in person better than via email.

Here's a link to a recent wedding if you want to see what our slideshows are like.
